I think one of the main reasons so many ex-cons return to crime is due to the fact that there are so few resources or opportunities for them when they are released. "Here's a $100, now go make a new life" is not a realistic plan. That's where I come in - inmates write to TIME and we provide them with housing, employment, educational resources to aid in their re-entry.
